Precautions While Filing ITR-2
To avoid issues, defective returns, and ensure smooth processing, make sure to follow these critical compliance steps.
Link Aadhaar & PAN
It is mandatory to link your Aadhaar card with your PAN card to successfully file your income tax return and avoid any penalties or rejection.
Pre-validate Bank Account
You must pre-validate your active bank account on the e-filing portal to ensure that any eligible tax refunds are credited smoothly without delays.
Observe Due Dates
Always file your return within the stipulated due date to avoid late filing fees, penal interest, and to keep the option of carrying forward losses available.
Complete Verification
Filing the correct form is only half the process. You must complete verification (e-verification is highly recommended) to ensure your return isn't treated as defective.
